Phoenix, Arizona is home to a number of wonderful cultural venues, and if you’re considering purchasing a home, land or real estate in Phoenix, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley or one of the many surrounding communities, chances are you’re interested in some of the activities in the area. One of which is the renowned Herberger Theater.
Built in 1989 as a pivotal piece in the redevelopment and revitalization of downtown Phoenix, the Herberger Theater Center is a non-profit organization whose mission is to support and foster the growth of performing arts in Phoenix and to be a premier performance venue. The Theater is home to three resident companies: the Actors Theatre, the Arizona Theatre Company and the Center Dance Ensemble. Other companies also use the Herberger, including Valley Youth Theatre and iTheatre Collaborative.
Of additional note are the Theater’s Lunchtime Programs and Youth Outreach Programs. In fact, every year, thousands of children experience live performances for the first time at the Herberger thanks to the Theater’s strong commitment to sustain its programs and initiatives for guests between the ages of 3 and 20. Meanwhile, the Steele Pavilion Art Gallery is home to the Theater’s Art Gallery, showcasing a wide variety of accomplished Arizona artists.
The Herberger Theater is supported by the Arizona Commission on the Arts, the City of Phoenix and the National Endowment for the Arts.
